Eat Your Vitamins!

Ha Ha Ha you are what you eat, ever heard that before. Well, it is true! The major antioxidants Vitamin A, C, and E all can actually decrease damage to your skin. Damage caused from sun exposure and other environmental burdens. So in essence these antioxidants block or shut out wrinkle causing predators.

Vitamin A

First and foremost eating your vitamin A is healthier than getting it through supplemental sources. Carrots, mangoes and greens oh my, all great foods rich in vitamin A.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is at it's most effective when ingested straight from the food source. As we all know oranges and orange juice are a good source of vitamin C. Grapefruit, red and green peppers, brussels sprouts and kiwi are also wonderful sources of vitamin C.

Vitamin E

Research is actually underway into making Vitamin E into an ingredient that we can topically apply to our skin. For now our best bet is to eat it. Vitamin acts as a skin conditioner from the inside out. Food sources include vegetable oils, nuts, spinach, and olives are all great sources of vitamin E.

Brazil Nuts- Are an excellent source of the mineral selenium. Selenium can improve the tightness of one's skin. The nuts are also rich in zinc, zinc is said to help with dry skin problems like eczema.

Berries- Berries, berries, berries. Strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries and cranberries, all good for your skin. In general eating berries can help your body produce collagen. Collagen can give your skin a more supple and smooth look and feel.

Salmon- Salmon and other oily fish can play a huge role in the healthiness of your skin. Oily fish like the salmon are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which is something our bodies can not produce naturally. Omega-3 fatty acids help our skin by keeping water in and keeping our cells hydrated. Omega-3 fatty acids also, decrease the occurrence of clogging pores.

So, really we are what we eat!
