African Mango/Fruit Salad

I love finding new foodstuffs that are healthy, medically benefiting and can help you lose weight. Recently discovered was a new fruit that researchers are dubbing the "super fruit." It is an African Mango and studies have shown that the fruit can help you lose up to ten pounds, quickly. The studies have actually shown the fruit helps a person lose up to 12 pounds of body fat every 28 days. That’s not it, the studies also goes on to show that those taking African Mango lost on average to inches of the dreaded belly fat. Some are saying that the African Mango may just be a miracle fruit.

For those of you like me who have never heard of the African Mango, here is what I found out.

The African Mango long before its new found fame surrounding it's “miracle fruit" attributes, has been used widely throughout Cameroon, Africa for years and years, as a diet supplement. In fact Cameroon, Africa is the only region in the world that grows the African Mango.

Like are common mango's, the African Mango is a beautiful red color and the inside fruit is just as wonderfully delicious, the real difference between your supermarket variety mango and the African Mango is the weird seed that it produces. It is the seed that provides an effective medicinal extract, which makes this fruit so popular, with its ability to lower cholesterol and reduce obesity.

The African Mango like all mango’s and all fruit is great in a salad, with greens and a vinaigrette or sliced and tossed with red onions, a little red wine vinegar over spinach greens. So your next mango salad or dish you serve that requires mango, give your pallet a treat and try the African Mango. (to achieve weight loss, the extract can be found online, in pill and tea form)

My Fruit Salad

You Will Need

  • 2 African Mango’s (common variety mango is fine) peeled and chopped
  • 1 pineapple cut in half length ways and fruit scooped from inside
  • 2 good sized green apples peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 bag spinach green
  • 1 medium red onion sliced thinly
  • Finely chopped fresh mint, enough to garnish

Directions

In a large salad bowl combine all veggie and fruit ingredients. In a smaller mixing bowl combine, lemon juice and sugar and the pour over fruit mixture. Serve fruit mixture inside hollowed out pineapple halves topped with chopped fresh mint, Yumo's. (pineapples can be left out and salad served in regular salad bowls as well)
